Each year the MGOSC awards up to ten scholarships in amounts ranging from $500.00 to $2000.00 to military dependents and spouses.

Eligible applicants must be high school seniors graduating during the current school year or military spouses who are:

  1. Legal dependents of U.S. military officers and enlisted personnel (active duty or reserve) assigned to Maxwell-Gunter Air Force Base or stationed at a remote location; dependents of civil service employees assigned to Maxwell-Gunter Air Force Base; dependents of retired personnel living in the Montgomery area; or dependents of deceased active duty or retired personnel whose survivors live in the Montgomery metropolitan area.

    -OR-

Military spouses who are legally married to U.S. military officers and enlisted personnel (active duty or reserve) assigned to Maxwell-Gunter Air Force Base or stationed at a remote location.

  2. Legal residents of the Montgomery metropolitan area.

Judging for academic scholarships is based on demonstrated scholarship, leadership, community service, and employment history. More weight will be placed on student-written essay, teacher recommendation, and unique situation of the individual applicant for non-traditional scholarships.  Financial need is not a determining factor in awarding MGOSC scholarships.  All application materials must be received on or before March 1, 2009.
